Central defender Oliver Casey joined Forest Green Rovers on a season-long loan from Blackpool in the summer of 2022. Tall, rangy and quick to read the game, he brings heading and tackling prowess to head coach Ian Burchnall’s back line.
The 21-year-old has excellent potential. Coming through the youth system at Leeds United, he joined the club as a pro in 2019, moving to Blackpool on loan in 2021. After that move became permanent, he joined Forest Green Rovers to gain match experience. Fitting in straight away, Ollie has featured in all of FGR’s League One fixtures at the time of writing.

Brave in the air, he’s an asset defending set pieces – and also when FGR win them down the other end. His first goal for the club was a header in the EFL Trophy against Southampton U21s, sending the South Stand delirious. There’s plenty more to come from this young defensive talent.
