A tall, physical centre-back who brings a threat on corners and the ability to maraud forward on the rush, Baily Cargill looks exciting in opposition territory. Joining FGR during the January transfer window in 2021, he has become a stalwart first team player with key contributions at both ends of the park, which helped the club win promotion as champions of League Two in 2021/22.
It’s his defensive attributes that head coach Ian Burchnall will be looking to for 2022/23 as FGR embrace life in League One. His aerial presence is vital for FGR when defending set plays, while his tackling, marking and blocking capabilities help the side to stonewall opposing forwards at home and away.

Having played for AFC Bournemouth, and making 68 appearances for MK Dons tallying one goal, Bails brings valuable experience to Rovers’ back line. During the 2018/19 season, he helped the Dons achieve promotion from League Two to League One, and he has Scottish Premiership experience too thanks to a 16-match loan spell with Partick Thistle in 2017/18.
Interesting fact: back in 2012, left-footer Baily made his senior debut against Rovers, when playing on loan for AFC Totton in the FA Trophy.
