Backup goalkeeper Lewis Thomas has mainly featured in cup competitions under current head coach Ian Burchnall, has he did for Rob Edwards. Constantly working with goalie coach Dan Connor and fellow keeper Luke McGee, he is ready and capable of stepping in at all times.
The Welsh goalkeeper has proved his worth to FGR many times since joining the club from Swansea in 2018. He began his Rovers career on fire, winning with a clean sheet against Oldham in August 2019. During that COVID-hit season, he made 15 league appearances with seven clean sheets, and in the 2020/21 campaign he shut out the opposition on five occasions in 13 league matches.

As well as catching the eye with some stunning saves, Lewis distributes the ball well with his feet, which suits the Forest Green style of play. Even playing more as a backup goalie he makes a vital contribution to the side with his personality in the dressing room, in training and with supporters.
Born in Swansea, this six-foot-three keeper came through the youth ranks at Swansea City before joining FGR in the summer of 2018. His contract with FGR has been extended twice, with his latest deal signed lasting up to June 2023.
