Luke McGee will go down in Green Devils history as the goalkeeper who played every league match in the 2021/22 season, recording 23 wins, 15 draws and 19 clean sheets. That’s the kind of form that wins titles and Luke’s outstanding play was a big driver behind Forest Green Rovers as the club claimed the League Two crown.
Signed in the summer before the 2020/21 season, at six-foot-four, Luke McGee commands the Forest Green Rovers penalty area well in the number one jersey. His height is matched by his agility and during his career Luke has proved to be a goalie who is alert and quick off his line, ready to cut out one-on-one attacks by making himself big to block the shot.
Luke’s steady approach and veteran presence have been vital to FGR during his first two seasons at the club. Thanks to his diving saves and parries, Rovers have been able to build a strong away record which they hope to maintain in their inaugural season in League One.

In spite of stiff competition from fellow keeper Lewis Thomas, Luke has been the starting goalie for FGR in league matches over the last two seasons. His current contract keeps him at the club until the end of June 2023.
