Young centre back Murphy Bennett signed his first professional contact with Forest Green Rovers in the summer of 2022. Learning and developing with the club’s academy since joining from the Manchester City youth set-up, he has earned himself regular call-ups to the Welsh U18 squad and he has captained that side.

Prior to the 2022/23 campaign, Murphy joined the first team for some of its preseason friendlies and has impressed during his minutes on the pitch. His awareness, positioning and tackling ability are proof of his outstanding potential, which FGR will hope to capitalise on in the coming seasons.
