In 2022/23, this tall, skilful and athletic midfielder will be looking to break into the first team on a regular basis and early in the season has featured in League and EFL Cup matches as a sub. He also played his first 90 minutes of the campaign in FGR’s EFL Trophy 3-1 win against Southampton U21s – one of his old clubs.
Harvey is a versatile and positive player with bags of potential who is gaining confidence all the time
A product of the FGR Academy, midfielder Harvey Bunker is one of our own and earned his first professional contract with the club in July 2020. During the 2020/21 campaign, he went on to make two appearances for Rovers with three more in 2021/22. He has gained experience through loan spells with Chippenham Town and Weymouth.
Previously part of the Southampton youth programme, Harvey came to FGR and soon caught the eye. While still in the academy, he earned himself a first team debut in our 2019/20 EFL Trophy match versus Walsall, although the result itself was disappointing. He had his first taste of victory as a substitute in FGR’s 3-0 EFL Trophy win against West Bromwich Albion’s Under-21s in October 2020.
Harvey is strong and mobile, and his size should work to his advantage as Rovers look to gain a foothold in League One following promotion during the 2022/23 season.
